About Candice York

Hi, I’m Candice, the artist behind Artist’s Kingdom.

I’ve loved fantasy, storytelling, and art for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family of artists made creativity part of everyday life, and painting became one of the first ways I learned to express myself. Fantasy has always stayed close to my heart because, to me, it reflects something very real—the idea that softness, wonder, and beauty can still hold strength.

My work blends realism with fantasy-inspired elements, luminous color, and painterly stained-glass influences to create pieces that feel both ethereal and grounded. I’m especially drawn to themes of quiet strength, femininity, emotion, nature, and light.

Life eventually grew beyond the studio. I became a young mother, married my high school sweetheart, and now spend my days balancing art with the beautiful chaos of raising four amazing children. But creativity never left me. Through every season of life, art remained the thread tying it all together. Returning to painting in this chapter feels less like beginning again and more like coming home to a part of myself that was always there.

Today, I create layered mixed-media and oil paintings filled with rich jewel tones, glowing details, and storytelling elements meant to bring warmth, wonder, and meaning into a space.

And outside the studio, you’ll usually find me sharing that same love of fantasy with my children—often wandering a Renaissance festival together and making memories along the way.

Welcome to my Kingdom!
