Candice York is an oil painter based in St. Augustine, Florida, and the artist behind Artist’s Kingdom Studio. Born in California and raised in a family of artists, she grew up drawing, painting, and imagining stories. Her love of fairytales has stayed with her since childhood and now shapes much of her work. She studied at the Milan Art Institute.

Candice combines realism with fantasy, using rich color, dramatic light, and expressive brushstrokes to bring familiar stories to life. Working with oils and mixed media, she builds her paintings in layers, balancing carefully rendered figures with loosely painted surroundings. Her subjects explore love, courage, longing, and the consequences of a single choice. She paints fairytales because she believes they still have something to offer adults: stories worth revisiting, lessons worth questioning, and room for wonder.

From her home studio, Candice creates original paintings and commissions, often working at night after her four children have settled. Outside the studio, she enjoys sharing her love of fantasy with her family at Renaissance festivals. She connects with collectors through her website and social media and is expanding her fairytale collection with new interpretations of the stories that first captured her imagination.
